An eBook version is in the works, but it presents formatting challenges with all the interior graphics and illustrations (see PDF, the ENTIRE book looks like this!) In 1990 a relatively unknown singer-song writer stepped onto the stage at the annual Country Music Awards. She told her story in song. It was a story that every artist in the room (including music legends) understood—from their own experience. Listen to the entire song, notice the audience reactions ...including the STANDING OVATION. Mary Chapin Carpenter was the LEAST FAMOUS performer that sang that night.

Apple legend Guy Kawasaki wrote in his book on entrepreneurism, THE ART of THE START, "The hardest thing about getting starting is getting starting."

In Art of the Start Guy encourages organizations (even if it's just you) to toss out mission statements (except as background and internal communications) and create, embrace, and announce a simple and profound mantra or motto. A few words like

• Authentic athletic performance (Nike).
• Fun family entertainment (Disney = link to Walt Disney's LAST time on film.)
• Rewarding everyday moments (Starbucks).
• Think (IBM).
• Winning is everything (Vince Lombardi’s Green Bay Packers).
