The final proofreading adjustments have been submitted to the book designer. The publisher believes we will "go to press" in a week ...give or take a week.
At that time we will begin taking online orders for my new book, HATCH! Brainstorming Secrets of a Theme Park Designer. There will be links to the online order page EVERYWHERE McNair: Twitter (@mcnairwilson); here on the Tea blog, and my THREE Facebook sites. It would be GREATLY APPRECIATED, in the meantime, if you would click over to the Facebook/Hatch page {HERE} and click the "LIKE" (thumbs up) tab. This will be a tremendous aid in bringing HATCH! to the attention of book shops, media outlets and reviewers. If you are connect with a TV, radio, or print outlet I do GREAT interviews and am available (by phone) NOW! (Click the email link under my photo, above left.)
If you are connect with (or have a good "in") with a bookshop, or college or church book store, I hope you will recommend they carry HATCH!—on the front counter. Your customers will thank you.
As a note on the back cover recommends: "Get two copies of HATCH! - - you will loan it to a friend and never see it again!"
[ There WILL BE an eBook version of HATCH! ...Eventually. But with all the art, graphics, and creative layout it is going to take a while to work out the technical details of the eBook version. Get a REAL BOOK, as soon as they are available, and then give it to a friend when you get your eHATCH! in a few months.]
Along with the pre-publishing launch of online orders, we will be posting a FREE (to anyone), downloadable PDF of the complete first chapter:
" I Love the Smell of Felt Pens In the Morning"
[Look for "Hatch Sample" under big red blimp, above]
This will be the complete layout, with all illustrations, fonts, etc. just as they will look in the finished book. That PDF will include the book's title page and two-page spread of the Contents. (See below.)
[ HATCH!, in print, will be 6" x 8", 208 pages with illustrations and playful graphics on virtually every two-page spread. There are six pages for "Notes & Doodles" in the back. "But, McNair! I don't doodle!" Well ...after reading Chapter 14: The Doodle Factor you WILL doddle. Especially after going through the fun execises in "McNair's Fearless Field Guide to Doodling & Visual Thinking for Everyone." ]
