. . . and you are invited
The 1000 Journals Project has been featured twice on this blog site. Scroll down and you will find recent posts (HERE and HERE) about this growing movement of sharing your art, images, writing, and found ephemera, and sending the journal on for others to contribute. Many of the journals have wrapped the globe.
My new friend, Andrea Kreuzhage, an award-winning film maker, has made a remarkable and inspiring film that follows many of the original 1000 Journals all over the planet.
Even if you did not know anything about the 1000 Journals Project, Andrea's rich and moving film tells a story that is complete within the 90 minutes of its captivating journey.
Now, San Francisco Bay area residents will have several opportunities to see this film—if you missed the screenings at the recent San Francisco Int'l Film Festival. In fact, beginning 1 August 2008, you will have many chances to see it, daily, as it begins a run at San Francisco's popular ROXIE Theatre.
There will be two shows nightly, four screenings on Saturday and Sunday. (Click on green handbill, left, to enlarge.) There are also plans underway to have a "Journal Slam" (my term) in association with the screenings. Bring your journal, sketchbook, fountain pen, glue stick, bus ticket, crayons, your favorite pen, and a brownie for McNair.
I will be there opening night and other screenings.
Meanwhile, visit my previous posts (linked above) and:

* Look at Journals No. 2997—3000
When you come to the Roxie, please introduce yourself if you see me.
PREVIEW OF COMING ATTRACTIONS:
In a few weeks (5 Aug.) my friend Susan (aka SARK) will release he new book Juice Pens, Thirsty Paper on the subject of writing, finding your own "voice" and getting published. To get the word out the creator of the 1000 Journals Project, "Someguy", has asked me to interview SARK for the 1000 Journals website interview page. I decided to conduct the interview through a journal. We will scan and upload the pages to the 1000 Journal and Tea With McNair websites. In fact, our interview—about half done—is journal No. 2944 on the 1001 Journal site. (Sneak preview in photos above and below.)
